About Cabinetgrabs
Why we show the whole order route
Cabinetgrabs builds trading tools around inspectable connections, explicit rules and accountable handovers.

A toolmaker based in East London
Cabinetgrabs is a South African software business based in East London. We build tools that connect trader-supplied rules to supported broker workflows, replay those rules against historical data and display the events that follow a signal. Our customers are independent traders and small teams who want to understand how an automated instruction travels from a rule to an order request. We serve clients across South Africa where the required broker access and technical setup are available. We do not operate a brokerage, hold client funds or trade accounts on a client's behalf. The product is software for configuring and observing a process, not a source of investment recommendations.
How we work through a connection
Since 2021, our work has started with a written account of the client's rules, broker requirements and intended order types. We map the relevant fields, configure the workflow and test ordinary events alongside rejection and interruption cases. The handover includes a description of the configuration and records the client can use to inspect what happened. We prefer a visible mismatch to a quiet assumption: if an instrument identifier or order type does not map cleanly, we stop and discuss it. An indigo-tech interface keeps status, limits and exceptions distinct without hiding the underlying event details. We explain technical behaviour, while the client decides whether and when a strategy should run.

A connection reviewed before live use
A small South African trading team brought an existing rule set and asked how its orders would pass through a supported broker connection. Over two weeks, the configuration work covered instrument mapping, an order-size limit and test events for accepted and rejected requests. The team received a field map and event record for its own review. This was a technical handover, not an assessment of whether the rule set should be traded or what its market results might be.

The limits we state plainly
Software cannot ensure that historical behaviour will repeat, that a broker will accept an order or that a connection will remain available. Broker policies, data quality, network interruptions, liquidity and market conditions sit partly outside our control. We can configure and explain supported tools, but we do not promise trading results, provide personalised investment advice or take over ongoing account supervision. If a proposed strategy cannot be described precisely, or if the necessary broker interface is unavailable, we will say so before treating the work as a viable integration.
